Google is pushing towards more and more personalized search results, so in order for you to perform well, you’ll have to ensure that you provide a better user experience that keeps people on your site. It’s not just about creating quality content, but also about knowing your audience, to the extent that the content is useful and has more chances to be ranked higher in the search results for the relevant queries. There is no minimum amount of words or text to rank in Google. Pay attention to how and where you’re linking in your content. There’s a balance here that might take some practice to nail down. If it’s been just a day or two since you made your website and are not appearing on the SERPs, then you might consider submitting your URL to Google (If you haven’t already done). If you still don’t appear on the SERPs, relax! Google takes some time to crawl and index your website.
Higher Search Engine Rankings
After the emergence of major updates, like Panda and Penguin, search optimizers have thrown around the term “penalty” to scare SEO novices into thinking that one simple mistake could instantly tank their site’s rankings. We all know that search engines have been trying for years to decrease their reliance on links as a ranking factor. But they haven’t got there yet and I don’t necessarily see that happening in the next year or so. With so many people using smartphones and tablet for their Internet search, it is imperative that you have a plan ready to compete for their business. Google, the top search engine--and the one to optimize for--handles more than 50 percent of search traffic and utilizes more than 100 algorithms to track and manage HTML content ("on-page factors"), external profiles ("off-page factors"), link architectures, popularity and reputation, as well as PageRank calculation (a complex site voting system) and web bots. Change is the only constant you can count on in search engine optimization. Although we often say that the fundamental principles of search engine optimization don’t change, pretty much everything else does. If you want to be really, really good at this, you cannot be inflexible. You cannot afford the luxury of becoming emotionally bonded to any particular idea.
Web 2.0 indexing - is it right for you?
We asked an SEO Specialist, Gaz Hall, for his thoughts on the matter: "When we talk about trust through age, we're talking about the indexed age (i.e. the time since Google originally found you). But, more importantly, what happened over the time since Google discovered your site or page." Before you decide which keywords are right for your brand, spend some time thinking about what your SEO goals are. Search engine algorithms are designed to detect content that was written for the sole purpose of boosting search engine traffic. If you’restruggling to rank #1 for your brand name among other websites with a similar or the same name, a rebrand to a more unique name or URL might give you a better chance of getting to the top. Standard results, however, are certainly not all that the search engines have to offer. For many types of queries, search engines show vertical results, or instant answers, and include more than just links to other sites to help answer a user’s questions
Optimising Your Website is Not A Guaranteed Traffic Generator
Quality and visibility. This is truly the great secret to SEO and content. SEO moves fast. It’s an ever-changing discipline where what worked six months ago, might be completely out of date. However, there are some fundamentals that stay more or less the same. Make sure at least one image file name includes your target keyword and that your target keyword is part of your image Alt Text. As touched upon before - backlinks are simply links from other websites directing viewers to your site. Search engines love these. Your website should be thematically oriented to specific keywords for optimal rankings. The website should fulfill the needs of your users. At the same time, it is also important for your web content to load quickly in order to guarantee user satisfaction.
Identify backlink opportunities
Keep your sentences short. Make sure that no more than 25% of your sentences contain more than 20 words. Also, keep your paragraphs short. Make sure each paragraph doesn’t exceed the recommended maximum of 150 words. A crawler is a Search Engine bot or a Search Engine spider that travels all around the web looking out for new pages ready to be indexed. In this scenario, the web can be considered as an entire country and the spiders/bots of Google stop at every destination to find the new places that have been developed in the country. Earning a link from a high-quality, relevant website will not only help with your SEO but also with referral traffic, which can lead to more sales and brand exposure. Building link popularity of a website is far more crucial than any other factors for SEO and positioning for top search engine ranking. But pay attention to who your link partners are. URLs andlinks are building blocks of a website, therefore, ensure that they are consistent and are search engine friendly. Pages that have many outbound links are considered to hurt search engine ranking.
